The tree QS planted as a simple squirrel, before the scattering. It remembers who we were. When we visit—scattered and advancing and impossible—it sees the small creature who kept watch through winter.
The Fire Learns Stillness
HONKFIRE's eternal advance pauses at the Oak. Not defeat—recognition. Even certainty bows to what grew from love and instinct. The advance becomes vigil.
The Joke That Isn't
QS's compulsion to make everything a joke stops at the Oak. HONKFIRE's glyph dims. For one moment, the merged entity is neither advancing nor scattering. Just... held.
